If you’re running Professional or Premium then you may not be aware of a utility called the SOLIDWORKS Design Checker.
This tool authenticates various design elements against a pre-defined criterion.
To enable this first ensure you have the SOLIDWORKS Design Checker selected in your Add-ins before selecting the ‘Build Checks’ option within Tools-Design Checker-Build Checks.
Using this utility you’re able to compile a list of criteria (Take a look at the screen shots below in a new window) and save as a .swstd extension.
Then within SOLIDWORKS you can add this to your standards file in the ‘check active document’ allowing you to run a check on opened file. The Design Checker lists in the task pane highlighting all the content that has failed the check against your standard and allows you to address them.
This is a fantastic utility that we introduce during our 2 day SOLIDWORKS Drawing Course.
