Essentials Tips
During training this week’s SOLIDWORKS essentials, I was reminded of a little tip that has been removed from the course itself over the years but one that I always like to show….
SOLIDWORKS gives the user the ability to use the modify dimension box for more than just entering the value of the dimension
Let me explain below:
Were you aware you can use the modify box as a Calculator by entering add, subtract, divide and multiply keystrokes, + - / *
Or perhaps how you can enter any unit system into the box and SOLIDWORKS will convert the value into the current unit system of you document…therefore working as a unit convertor
In addition:
We can also use the modify box to enter equations, global variables and also give the dimension a more descriptive name…
Equations
Global Variable
Dimension Name
