Assembly Enhancements

Tuesday January 28, 2014 at 2:41pm
After reviewing the 2014 Training manual content and getting hands on with the new enhancements I thought I'd share a couple of my favorite features.
  1. Toggling Between Flexible and Rigid States
  2. Configurations
While in 2013 and previous releases we had to go into Component properties to change the way a subassembly was being solved or even select an alternative configuration - in 2014 we now have the ability to do this within the Feature Manager design tree.

We can select the subassembly and you'll now notice a new icon in the menu by toggling this icon.

Even for parts we can click the component and we will now also see a drop down list allowing us to change the configuration.
Another command I also found useful which isn't a new feature is the ability to flip mate alignment - via a RMB we can switch the alignment of the selection normal to the faces of our geometry.
