eDrawings
There are a number of tools within SOLIDWORKS to speed up the
process of communicating designs quickly and effectively to your customers. One
of the most popular ways is through a free program called eDrawings.
One of the major benefits with using eDrawings is that
entire assembly files are flattened to an individual file which has the added
benefit of reducing the file size allowing it easily to be sent via email.
Within the eDrawings product, your suppliers, customers or manufactures can fully interact with your 3D designs, 2D drawings and even Simulation results, by rotating, zooming, and even measuring and sections if you allow this.
The software can open native SOLIDWORKS files, and also files can be published\saved to the eDrawings format where options such as measuring can be enabled/ disabled.
eDrawings is also available on iOS and Android devices allowing to you view CAD files on the go.

3D PDF
As well as saving our 2D drawings to PDF files, another great way in communicating your designs is
to use a 3D pdf. This will allow the document to be opened using a standard pdf viewer
in its 3D state, but that’s not all, you can also rotate and zoom into the
model. (Zoom in with with right mouse button, rotate with the left). Options are limited compared to eDrawings, such as no measure, section or explode functions.
So give it a go, and enhance the way you communicate your designs with your customers.
