Jingle Bell : SOLIDWORKS Tutorial

Friday December 21, 2018 at 11:54am

For our third Christmas blog post this year – we have created a jingle bell. To create this jingle bell, knowledge of surface techniques is desirable, but not necessary as it is simple enough for you to follow along with the video tutorial. Features such as wrap are used to wrap the sketch for the cut the details from the bottom of the bell along with sweep operations.

Modelling Overview:

  • Step One: Create the revolved profile on the front plane and generate a revolved surface
  • Step Two: Using an offset plane, create a sketch for the bell opening
  • Step Three: Wrap the sketch onto the revolved surface
  • Step Four: Carry out a series of surface offsets and thicken the desired surface
  • Step Five: Sweep the ring typically used to hang the jingle bell
