When SOLIDWORKS crashes or closes for an unexpected reason, it is time for the
SOLIDWORKS RX to be used to gather the information and data on the crash. Please follow
the steps below before restarting SOLIDWORKS – otherwise the crash data will be lost.
Once recorded please send to support@solidsolutions.co.uk

SOLIDWORKS: How to Create an RX Without Video
View an interactive step by step guide below by pressing the play button below.
For the best experience view the guide full screen click here.
If you prefer the solution is outlined in text below.
1. In Windows access Start >
All Programs >
SOLIDWORKS 20XX >
SOLIDWORKS TOOLS >
SOLIDWORKS RX 20XX
2. This will open up the
SOLIDWORKS RX
Diagnostic tool.
3. Select the Problem Capture
Tab.
4. Allow the System Information
capture to complete.
5. Ignore Step 1(Video), as we
do not require any video
unless the problem is
repeatable.
6. Select Package files now;
this will collect the
Windows and
SOLIDWORKS logs of
your System and the
Crash, as well as any files
involved.
7. This will prompt you to save
the file, select somewhere
appropriate.
8. Send the file to
support@solidsolutions.co.uk and include a description of the problem and your contact information.
Please note that support is only available for customers with an active Solid Solutions subscription.
Once we have received the RX file and your information we will
endeavour to check the crash data and system information through as
quickly as possible. We will subsequently be in contact with you with a
resolution or at least a direction in which we can start diagnosing.
