Simple Design Works is a product design consultancy which started as a one-man band in 2014, specialising mainly in mechanical and computer aided design (CAD).
From day one their focus was on reputation and success; ensuring they grew their expertise, provided outstanding customer service, increased their capability and utilised the best tools available on the market.
Each year over the past few years, the company has almost
doubled in size whilst expanding their portfolio of services to offer:
They have achieved a number of strategic partnerships to
create a complete design service, as well as collaborated with one of the UK’s
leading IP firms to protect their customer’s assets. Simple Design Works’ extensive growth has
been recognised by the Herefordshire &Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, having achieved finalist status in
their ‘High Growth Business of the Year’ business awards for 2019.
As
they grow, Simple Design Works has been taking on more complex projects across
different industries, Kristo Shivachev, Founder and Director says, ‘SOLIDWORKS,
with its outstanding capabilities and intuitiveness, has evolved with us. Whether we’re at the early stages of product
conception or using the production element to create manufacturing costings, SOLIDWORKS
is used throughout the whole process.
Whilst functionality has been central to our design, there’s no doubt
that part of our success also lies with the support we have received from Solid
Solutions.
Responsiveness is incredibly important to us and Solid
Solutions has been part of our extended team that we know we can rely on. At times it’s been paramount that we speak to
a person and we’ve found that they’ve always taken the time to understand our
challenges and work hard to offer a solution.
It simply provides us with ultimate reassurance that we can get the job
done.’
With Solid Solution’s help Simple Design Works claims to have attracted and retained clients such as Schwarzkopf, Joerns, Race Furniture, Nissan, Aston Martinand Jaguar Land Rover. ‘SOLIDWORKS was instrumental in designing and engineering body work on Guy Martin’s limited edition vanwhich also involved complex surface modelling and mould analysis. It also made it easy for us to conduct motion studies on complex mechanisms as well as provide our clients with peace of mind by offering FEA analysis on our designs before manufacturing. We’ve been able to produce realistic renders and help visualise ideas early on, making the process more enjoyable for our client and project team, but also setting up our 3D prints from the CAD package.’
Kristo continues, ‘As a business we believe that our company
is the team; the people behind it. One of the reasons we’ve maintained high
business growth year by year is that the best talent in the country uses SOLIDWORKS
and every time we employed a designer or an engineer they could hit the ground
running using SOLIDWORKS. This gave us access to the biggest talent pool of CAD
engineers and designers in the UK and made growing the team much easier.
We’ve always focussed on offering an outstanding service and
it very quickly became obvious to us that obtaining ISO 9001 certification was
the way to achieve this. The data management tools offered by Solid Solutions allowed us to implement a
robust system fairly quickly. This was
evident when we passed this part of our very first ISO audit with no
recommendations for improvement. Configuring EPDM
centralised our engineering data giving us a clear process to follow and
maintaining quality through streamlining the audit trail and version
control.
Our experience with Solid Solutions has been really
enjoyable and we can honestly say that we consider them a part of our team.
They have allowed us to grow and take on more complex work guiding us every
step of the way. Regardless of tackling a tricky surface model or discussing a
whole system improvement they always offered honest friendly advice. We cannot recommend their services enough as
they are the right partner for any business, regardless of how big or small.’
