In 2001 I began my degree in Product Design at the University of Portsmouth. What attracted me was combination of engineering and aesthetic consideration to create something real and functional.
In late 2003, as part of my degree, I participated in a nine month university industrial placement program at Spaform, a luxury hot tub company. This placement gave me a real taste for draughting and helped clarify my career focus.
After obtaining a 2:1 (hons) I started on my career path. My previous draughting experience helped me to secure a job at Hosiden Besson Ltd, Hove, a manufacturer of fire alarms, payphone handsets and various other injection moulded plastic parts. In my two years at the company I got a taste for SOLIDWORKS.
In 2007 I moved to Boustead Industrial Heaters for a soley SOLIDWORKS based role. This job developed my skills as an engineer and further improved my SOLIDWORKS ability.
In 2011 seeking a creative change I landed a role at EeStairs. They are a Dutch company with a UK based office who design and manufacture bespoke feature staircases. I was brought in as a SOLIDWORKS expert in a Design Engineer / Project Manager role who would take charge of a project from manufacture to installation. It was here I learnt 3D Studio Max & HiCAD expanding my skill set further whilst developing a new passion for visualisation.
